Unique Architecture and Towns

Trulli are circular buildings typical of the entire Puglia region. They were originally shelters for shepherds, built from flat stones stacked on top of each other. However, some began to serve as standard family homes. The town of Alberobello, in the center of Puglia, has the most trulli—reportedly 1,400 of them.

When wandering through the beautiful streets of Bari, you must visit the narrow alley where grandmothers hand-make and sell homemade pasta directly on the street. They most often make the local pasta called orecchiette, but the selection is much wider.

Coastal Gems

Ostuni is a city with white streets perched on a hill above the Adriatic Sea, with a view of endless olive groves stretching to the ocean. You'll find narrow streets, great cafes, restaurants, and curious shops full of pottery, shoes, and olive oil.

The town of Polignano a Mare is a small harbor with a medieval core situated on the edge of a limestone cliff. The town is enjoying ever-increasing popularity.

DAY 1

10:10 AM - Departure from Prague 12:00 PM - Arrival in Bari Transfer to accommodation, check-in at the 3-star Hotel Moderno Free time for lunch. Walk through the old part of Bari with a pasta-making workshop. (The local guide will take the group to the famous Strada delle Orecchiette, where local women make traditional pasta.)

8:00 PM - Dinner at La Cecchina restaurant

DAY 2

Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Visit to an ancient olive farm in Ostuni with an oil tasting. You'll visit the farm and taste 3-4 different oils.

1:30 PM Lunch at Bellavista pizzeria in Ostuni.

Afternoon Free time in Polignano a Mare. You can swim at Lama Monachile, the smallest beach in Italy. The town is a small harbor with a medieval center situated on the edge of a limestone cliff. It is enjoying ever-increasing popularity. After lunch, you can swim or take a stroll through the picturesque Polignano a Mare.

You have the option of a boat trip along the coast for €28 per person or a tuk-tuk ride along the coast to the fishing village of San Vito for €28 per person.

8:00 PM Dinner at Grotta Ardito restaurant with a view of the sea and cliffs. Evening transfer back to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Tour of Alberobello with free time for shopping. Alberobello is one of the most interesting towns in Italy. You might feel like you're in a fairy tale. The snow-white circular houses with gray stone roofs, decorated with various symbols, are packed together, and the streets between them are incredibly lively. It's no surprise—there are around 1,400 of these unique houses called trulli in the town, which are also on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and no visitor to Puglia should miss a stop here.
